Press and hold the test button on your smoke alarm for 3-5 seconds. A loud alarm should sound. We recommend testing your alarms monthly to ensure they are functioning correctly.
What is the difference between photoelectric and ionisation alarms?
Photoelectric alarms are best at detecting slow, smouldering fires that produce a lot of smoke. Ionisation alarms respond faster to fast-flaming fires. For comprehensive protection, we recommend photoelectric alarms as they are less prone to false alarms and are required by Australian legislation.
How do I replace the battery in my smoke alarm?
Our 10-year sealed battery alarms do not require battery replacement. For standard models, twist the alarm off its mounting plate, replace the 9V battery with a fresh one, and reattach. Test the alarm after battery replacement.
Can my smoke alarm be interconnected wirelessly?
Yes! Our wireless range allows you to interconnect multiple alarms without running cables. When one alarm is triggered, all connected alarms will sound, ensuring you hear the alert no matter where you are in your home.
How do I clean and maintain my smoke alarm?
Gently vacuum around the vents of your smoke alarm every 6 months to remove dust. Never paint or cover your alarm. Avoid using cleaning products or water as these can damage the sensors.
