Red Smoke Alarms have been designed to a high quality and are known for their reliability, that is why Red Smoke Alarms can offer a 10-year warranty across its entire smoke alarm range, offering you peace of mind for now and the long term.
 
Manufactured in our smoke alarm manufacturing facility – quality is at the heart of everything we do. Every Red smoke alarm must pass countless quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process ensuring that Red Smoke Alarms are extremely reliable, functional smoke alarms in Australia.
All Red smoke alarms are photoelectric and certified to Australian Standard AS3786:2014 +A1:2015 +A2:2018 as well as having ActivFire & SAI Global certification.
 
Red Smoke Alarms guarantees our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of ten years from the date code stated on the unit product label (Warranty Period), subject to the terms and conditions set out in our warranty policy.  RSA requires proof of purchase for warranty claims.  RSA reserves the right to modify warranty provisions at our sole discretion without prior notification. Warranty coverage will be determined by the warranty provisions at the time of the claim.
 
If RSA determines, in its sole discretion, that the product has become defective during the Warranty Period and is not voided by breach of the conditions set out below, RSA has the right to repair or replace the product free of charge.

This warranty claims procedure outlines the terms and
conditions for returning products under Red Smoke Alarms Pty Ltd (RSA)
warranty policy.

Process to submit a claim

  • Completed warranty application ( redsmokealarms.com.au/warranty)
  • A valid proof of purchase (receipt or invoice) must be provided with all returns.
  • Completed diagnostic checklist
  • Retained faulty Alarm

Red Smoke Alarm (RSA) Claim Process

  • RSA to review the warranty application
  • RSA to confirm the validity and next steps of the application
  • RSA reserves the right to process the claim in one of three processes:
    1. RSA technician to be scheduled
    2. RSA service agent to be scheduled
    3. Replacement Alarm to be posted with return slip for faulty Alarm to be returned to RSA for inspection.
    4. a)
      and b) RSA technician and RSA service agent claims will be processed
      depending on your location under the following considerations. These act
      as a guideline only.
  • For Queensland metro areas within 5 business days.
  • For all other locations, within 10 business days.

Following
initial assessment some alarms may be replaced on-site. This is at the
professional discretion of the RSA technician or RSA service agent.

  1. c) Postal replacements will be made depending on your product and warranty reason.
  • All battery main powered alarm claims may be posted with a return postal slip
  • All confirmed single or double beep claims may be posted with a postal slip.
  • False
    alarms reflecting a function alarm that are typically caused by
    environmental conditions and not manufacturing defects can however be
    returned at the cost of the customer for technical inspection and
    testing (refer to diagnostic checklist and environmental impact on smoke
    alarm for self-diagnostic help on false alarms).
  • In the event of a faulty alarm RSA will post a new replacement alarm.
  • For those deemed not faulty, RSA will make the original alarm available for collection.

Warranty Policy

Red Smoke Alarms of 20 Kikuyu road  Chevallum, QLD, 4556, PH: 1300 316 552, guarantees our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of ten years from the manufacturing date code stated on the unit product label (Warranty Period), subject to the terms and conditions below.   

RSA reserves the right to modify warranty provisions without prior notification. Warranty coverage will be determined by the warranty provisions at the time of the purchase.

If RSA determines, in its sole discretion, that the product has become defective during the Warranty Period and the Warranty applies and is not voided by breach of the conditions set out below, RSA has the right to replace or repair the product.

Without limiting the foregoing, RSA will not accept a warranty claim where RSA determines that the failure was caused by incorrect installation, application, or misuse.

Furthermore, RSA shall not be responsible for damage of any kind, caused by accidents, power surges, electrical storm damage, acts of nature, incorrect power current, incorrect installations, or any attempt by an unauthorised person to repair or to be seen to tamper with the equipment.

This warranty shall not apply if the product has been contaminated, insect infested or fails to operate due to improper maintenance as well as making allowances for fair wear and tear, including but not limited to corrosion or mould.

To the extent permitted by law, RSA will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damages, including without limitation to furniture, floor coverings, walls, fixtures or any other consequential loss of any kind caused by any defect in the products.

This warranty does not extend to the installation or removal of the product.

This warranty is provided in addition to other rights and remedies you have under law, including any guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

RSA will not be responsible for any costs associated with warranty work undertaken without our knowledge and prior approval.

Conditions

Installation of RSA products must be installed for the purpose intended, as per the product specification and installation instructions and where required to do so by law you must have the goods installed by a licensed electrician.                 

The goods must be used, handled, installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with Red Smoke Alarms installation and operational instructions and in normal environmental conditions as per product specifications.

All Alarms must be installed according to relevant National Standards and State Regulations, including National/State Electrical Codes, building codes and any local state legislation requirements.

It is recommended that Smoke Alarms be installed within 12 months of the manufacturing date. For  models with non-replaceable rechargeable batteries (ie: R240RC), installation must occur within 12 months to ensure optimal battery performance.

Red Smoke Alarms products are not designed to connect with other brands of smoke and/or heat alarms. Should they be inter-connected with another brand of alarm, the performance of the alarm may be compromised and may result in the warranty being voided.

Warranty claims need to be returned to RSA at the time of claim accompanied with proof of purchase and installation report. The product’s date code and or serial number must not be removed, defaced, changed or tampered with in any way. The product must not be modified or altered outside the original factory specifications.

If any of the above conditions are breached, then the product warranty will be void and Red Smoke Alarms will not be responsible to repair or replace the product.

Red Smoke Alarms does not warrant any battery.

  4. ELECTRICIANS: Go to the “warranty” section in the Red Smoke Alarms website redsmokealarms.com.au/warranty and fill out the warranty form for Electricians
